borborygmos

29 Apr

borborygmus

They listen for you
ever so intently
after the trauma of surgery
sign of
restart
of renewed flow
of the resumption of life
as bowels awake

So I listen…for

some sounding in my soul
some
inner
borborygmatic
gurgling of
rekindled hope
passion
faith

but I’m met with only

silence

still

    silence

    still

…yet even in the contemplation of this poem there is a quiet, but distinct, rumbling.

Oh yes, but only for those who really listen, so it’s no surprise that one who has waited at my side for those elusive sounds to commence can detect them in me now — and in so many others. Cheers, Chad. 🙂

    Oh these rumblings…
Not only the noise but the cramp & stab.
Even the rumblings convey the pain.
