loose ends

13 Apr

You have chosen to be a
theologian
says he,
your job is to tie up

looseloose ends

ends

not create
more
and then
walk away.
Irresponsible.

Tell us plainly,
said they
to him too.

But is this not what God
does
on every page
in every story
along and under and through
every line
not only loosening ends
but fraying, flaying, splaying them
and us
when we long for the explaining instead?
Irresponsible God
turning murky sea
into pavement
revealing your voice
in disorienting cloud.
Your will and word
a mirkwood orchard
peshat, remez, derash and sodMirkwood Forest
surface bark
hiding
teasing
leading
misleading
revealing secrets
leading to greater, clearer, fuller

enigma.

Looking glass darkly.

Till
finally we turn
finally we see

you.
